Rain!!!!!

After a rough couple of days i thought i'd get my act together and start on my work again. I'd left my work outside and it rained! Just my luck....................start again!

I've now moved into the lounge and i'm pretty sure my boyfriend will soon get pissed off with it.

Tough shit! Thats where its staying!

I'm trying to upload pictures but my internet connections crap

Photocopies....

My first layer is going to be pasted in photocopies. When i'm finished you probably won't even see them. I want to build up the layers to create a more interesting piece. I'll paint on top of that and add typography. Maybe even add some hand drawings.

Letters.....

I've started thinking of different ways to present my typography. I've decided to go with every way. I want my piece to be covered in words and sentences that draw the viewer closer.

My first thought was to create some 3D text that sticks out a bit so i bought some fridge magnets and i'm going to cover them in clay( to get a more perfect letter). I can then stick them on my piece and either spray or paint them so they blend into the picture.

I also have some foam letters and stencils and also trying to get hold of a letraset. Proving harder than i thought.

Practice

Before i start on my bigger piece of wood i'm going to practice on smaller bits first to try and get an idea of what i want it to look like. I'm going to build layer upon layer of photocopies, acrylic, wood, plastic, found objects to make a 3d effect piece of work.

The next step.......

Ok, so now i know what i'm doing and this weekend i'm going to make a good start on it. The first thing i need is a canvas to paint on. Not a normal canvas but something old and used. I've found a piece of wood in the carpark where i park my car and i'm going to use this. I'm going to create different layers and textures using different images and materials. There will be typography on my work. Some that stands out and some thats hard to read. I'm going to use this as my main piece but work on other objects i have found too. See what happens.................
